I like Acdsee Pro, I can use the batch processes to resize into a new folder, & watermark in one step for entire folder of pictures. Just be sure to select the option to save to new folder.
You can't beat it for ease of use.

Ryant, it looks like ACDSee Pro is neither for Mac or free. Sorry.
I'm also interested in a free (or even cheap) watermarker for Mac. I don't have PS.
Is there, perhaps, an action in GIMP that would work?

After a quick yahoo search:
http://www.coolosxapps.net …free-mac-image-utility-2/ is a free one.
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22028 is free to try, but $20 if you like it.
I'll give them both a whirl and let you know what I think!

Oh yeah I forgot to mention all that. I guess I didn't read your entire post.

I think you can create a BATCH ACTION in adobe.
That will go through a folder without you having to open each image.
You can also get it to re-save images at a lower res and save them in an other folder... ie.... copy them as low res watermarked images in the separate folder.

I use a program called iWatermark. It works great and allows for batch processing. It is very inexpensive as well.

I use the option batch process in PS Elements. You don't have to opnen all the pictures. It will do it for you... If you have a big batch though, launch it, go take a coffee and come back later

Adobe Batch process.
open up a sample image.
goto ACTIONS
open a NEW SET
open a new ACTION
do whatever it is you want to do to the image,
in this case put a watermark on it.
finish what it is you want to do to the image.
even, for example, save it as low res in a WATERMARKED IMAGES folder.
click STOP RECORDING
and hey presto, you`ve set up an ACTION for use in the
FILE > AUTOMATE > BATCH
Sorry to be a bit vague but it would take a long time to give full instructions, and seeing as i worked out how to do it without help from adobe instruction book i`m pretty damn sure anyone can!!!
You can do these actions to do anything in adobe,
so for instance, set up to UNSHARP AT 200%, another action to unsharp at say 150%, another action to auto level, etc etc etc.
you can then go through a whole folder or simply by clicking the action button or you alter 1 image at a time as you edit that particular image.
saves me hours.

Just bought iWatermark for a measly $20. Has a wonderful interface integrates seamlessly with Macs.
